Ben Wheatley’s ‘Rebecca’ Adds ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ Art Director – ‘Rocketman’ Costume Designer Julian Day Confirmed

HN Entertainment has learned that Ben Wheatly’s Netflix film Rebecca (a project I first revealed) has added art director Will Coubrough to the film’s production team.

Will’s credits include Hobbs and Shaw, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, Murder On The Orient Express, and War Machine. As an assistant art director, he worked on movies such as Kingsman: The Secret Service, Beauty and The Beast, World War Z, and Edge of Tomorrow.

We’ve also been able to confirm from our own sourcing that that Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman costume designer Julian Day is indeed working on the film as well.

As first revealed by HN, the film’s crew will also include cinematographer Laurie Rose (Free Fire) and production designer Sarah Greenwood (Darkest Hour).

The film based on the 1938 novel by Daphne du Maurier, follows a woman who marries a widower, but as his servants become more hostile, the newlywed grows more fearful, until she eventually learns the secret of what really happened to his first wife.

Rebecca’s cast consists of Lily James (Baby Driver), Armie Hammer (Call Me By Your Name), Kristen Scott Thomas (Only God Forgives), Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Ann Dowd (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Sam Riley (Control).

Filming is currently underway.

Netflix has yet to give Rebecca an official release date.
