Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse is currently on a historic awards run and with fantastic reviews. Now, it looks like Warner Bros. wants in on the animated action.

According to our friends over at Geeks WorldWide, Warner Animation Group is in early development on a Batman Beyond film that would be released theatrically. Sources tell the outlet that this was indeed from direct response on Sony’s Spider-Verse.

WAG is hoping for a 2022 release date but as of now that is not set in stone. The outlet did some digging after finding concept art on the film via Reddit, Which is in fact legit. You can take a look at the concept art down below.

As of now, other details on the project are not currently available, and will remain under-wraps for the time being. However, according to SuperBroMovies wrier DanielRPK, WAG is looking to cast an Asian-American actor to voice Terry.

Released in 1999, Batman Beyond ran for three seasons, and centered on a high schooler named Terry McGinnis revives the role of Batman. Under supervision of an elderly Bruce Wayne (voiced by longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy), he fights crime in a harsh futuristic Gotham. In 2000 a direct-to-video movie Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker was released, which brought back Mark Hamill as the iconic villain.
