Endgame’ Has Now Surpassed ‘Avatar’s Box Office Record Becoming The Highest-Grossing Film Earning $2.790 Billion

Over the weekend, Avengers: Endgame crept up to Avatar and crossed their unadjusted box office record earning a massive $2.790 billion via BoxOfficeMojo. Becoming the newest record holder of the highest-grossing film and setting the pace for the next wave of blockbusters like James Cameron has done previously with Avatar and Titanic.

Although, there are going to be people that will have an issue with Avengers: Endgame taking the crown given the Avatar box office would have a 17% increase because of inflation. Avatar’s box office total accounting for that would be more in the range of $3.2 billion in 2019 dollars.

The Russo Brothers have teased interest in tackling a Secret Wars movie for Marvel, but have announced a huge wave of projects to keep them busy with a Mosul, Dhaka, a Battle of The Planets movie (based on the Japanese anime show), Magic: The Gathering animated series (based on the fantasy card game), and an adaptation of comic book Grimjack.

Their next feature film is Cherry and will be an R-rated bank robbery flick starring Tom Holland.

When and where Secret Wars will shoot/release remains to be seen as it looks like new MCU Phases will be done in two-year bursts.
