After reports of Ruben Fleischer (Venom, Zombieland) being a top contender to replace Travis Knight as the director on Sony’s Uncharted movie, that has now been confirmed by Variety.
They add that recent Oscar-nominee Antonio Banderas has joined Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg in the action-adventure film based on the Naughty Dog video game franchise.
Also joining the film will be Sophia Ali and Tati Gabrielle.
Spider-Man actor Tom Holland plays a young incarnation of treasure hunter Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg will play his mentor Sully.
The report doesn’t mention who the three new additions will be playing in the video game adaptation.
HN Entertainment has previously confirmed that filming is taking place at Studio Babelsberg in Potsdam, Germany just outside of Berlin.
Sony has recently given Uncharted a release date of March 5th, 2021 after moving it out of the path of Legendary’s Dune this December.
