TheWrap has revealed that Paramount has found their Storm Shadow as Warrior’s Andrew Koji has been tapped to play the role in G.I. Joe spinoff Snake Eyes.
“Warrior” headliner Andrew Koji has been cast as Storm Shadow in the “G.I. Joe” movie spinoff “Snake Eyes,” multiple individuals with knowledge of the project tell TheWrap exclusively.
HN Entertainment recently reported that Paramount is also auditioning actresses to play the role of Cobra operative Baroness.
The origin film will see how Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow had a falling out, seeing one of them join the heroic team of the Joes and the other joining Cobra, a terrorist organization.
Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians, Last Christmas) is said to be taking the titular role in the action flick.
Filming will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from October to December. With an expectation, they’ll move production to Japan.
The film is likely going to be the first step in seeing a full-reboot of the studio’s G.I. Joe franchise, which is also the case with their Chuckles-led third G.I. Joe movie.
Snake Eyes has been given a release date of October 16th, 2020 by Paramount Pictures.
