Actors have been using press tours to start fledgling campaigns to land various comic book roles, some work but the vast majority don’t. You might remember not too long ago American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson mentioned an interest in the role of Wonder Woman 1984’s villain Cheetah, which went to comedic actress Kristen Wiig.

Well, it looks like Sarah isn’t just interested in DC Comics roles because in a new red carpet interview with TheUpcoming (via ScreenRant) she teased wanting a role in an unnamed Marvel movie too.

Interesting enough, the Golden Globe-winning actress appeared in 12 Years A Slave that featured plenty of Marvel Studios actors including Doctor Strange’s Benedict Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor, along with being the film that gave Black Panther’s Lupita Nyong’o her first Oscar win for Best Supporting Actress. Sarah worked with Panther’s Angela Bassett on American Horror Story. Glass, of course, sees her co-starring alongside Nick Fury’s Samuel L. Jackson.

Paulson also working with X-Men alumni James McAvoy, Evan Peters, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

There are plenty of roles Sarah could be excellent for one of them being Ophelia Sarkissian also known as Madame Hydra/Viper, a character that has yet to grace the Marvel Cinematics Universe and could be an excellent grounded spy villainess for heroes like Black Widow, Wolverine, or Shang-Chi. Considering her links to Cumberbatch and Ejiofor taking a role in Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange 2 could be a way to go as well.

A third Spider-Man movie could also open a door as we haven’t seen a female villain in that franchise and I really loved the female version of Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Something that could be echoed in the MCU version of the Spider-Man franchise.

Paulson will have to let her agent know if she’s serious and make this happen, as there are a bunch of Marvel Studios projects are currently casting (Black Widow and The Eternals) and television stuff Marvel Studios is getting into as well.
