We learn about a new DC Comics movies in development at Warner Bros. every week/month and now actors are adding to the pile of possible projects. Amber Heard, who plays Aquaman’s Mera has revealed to TheHollywoodReporter a desire to team-up with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman and even her own spin-off movie.
“I would really love to team-up with Wonder Woman, that would be a kick-ass duo right there. But I’m fine for a spin-off, you heard it here.”
It’s a foregone conclusion that a third Wonder Woman solo movie could be put into development in the near future and adding Amber Heard’s Mera to it could happen depending on the film’s setting.
TheHollywoodReporter also recently revealed that an Aquaman sequel is in very very early talks at Warner Bros. If the film is a massive success they could end up giving Mera her own string of films, not unlike Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.
Aquaman will be released on December 21st.
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be…a king.
