The untitled Cassian Andor series set within the Star Wars universe has already started filming according to Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy during the Disney+ presentation at Disney’s Investors Day 2019 streaming event.
Kennedy also added that Diego Luna will, of course, be back in the role of Cassian but it was also confirmed that Alan Tudyk is back as the snarky droid K-2SO. Something that had been teased before.

The series will be taking place years before the events of the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, given that all the characters died in that movie it would be hard to continue their adventures.
It certainly is a bit shocking that they’ve already started filming the show and the community wasn’t able to leak that information. Despite rumblings that they would next be tackling a series focusing on Obi-Wan Kenobi, they failed to mention that being one of their upcoming projects.
There is an expectation that Lucasfilm will be revealing more information about the Cassian Andor series at Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago over the weekend, possibly during The Mandalorian panel.
We are beyond excited to see the studio adding more live-action series to the streaming service and what those could be.
