A Green Lantern’s light may shine on the DC Universe soon. According to insider Lance Ausfresser, the golden age hero Alan Scott is rumored to appear in the upcoming Stargirl series.

Alan Scott would be joining long list of heroes and villains on the show that includes Hourman, S.T.R.I.P.E, Wildcat, Tigress, Sportsmaster and many more. Some of those heroes are members of the Justice Society of America, including the original Green Lantern Alan Scott.

Scott was created by Martin Nodell and first appeared in the comic book All-American Comics #16, published in 1940. He became one of the founding members of the JSA, the very first official superhero team in DC Comics history. Throughout the years, he simply became a golden age hero that was replaced by the much more popular Hal Jordan.

The show will follow Brec Bassinger’s Stargirl as she inspires a group of young heroes to fight villains of the past. It will reimagine the first DC superhero team in the Justice Society of America as well as their counterpart, the Injustice Society. The cast includes Luke Wilson as Pat Dugan aka S.T.R.I.P.E, Meg DeLacy as Cindy Burman and Jake Austin Walker as Brainwave Jr.

The series in currently in production with DC comics veteran Geoff Johns at the helm as showrunner and writer.

Stargirl is expected to hit the DC Universe streaming service in 2020.

Lance Ausfresser is NOT an insider. In fact, Geoff Johns (Stargirl’s creator) used to scold Lance for giving out false information on his forum years ago – before Lance was booted altogether. I’d look for different sources…
