Lucasfilm has revealed a new alien character named Babu Frik that will be appearing in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on their official website.
BABU FRIK – The tiny Anzellan droidsmith, works among the Spice Runners of Kijimi and can reprogram or modify virtually any droid — regardless of the security measures protecting its systems.
Another new alien in the movie includes a yellow slug-like alien named Klaud that is brought into The Resistance by Chewbacca.
As the Skywalker Saga comes to a close with the ninth installment, it’ll be interesting to see where the studio goes with future feature films as the Disney+ shows seemingly are going to be the home for stuff connected to the Skywalker Saga timeline from now on.
There have been reports that Lucasfilm will attempt a Knights of The Old Republic movie, possibly a trilogy. Kathleen Kennedy confirming to MTVNews at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago that the Old Republic era is indeed something they’ve been talking about doing.
Along with a wave from films coming from Rian Johnson, David Benioff/D.B. Weiss, and Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige. However, we’re in the dark with those projects except that they’ll be brand new and will likely won’t have connections to the original trilogy.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to be released on December 18th.
We’re expecting that Disney will be releasing the full trailer in the next couple of weeks and we’ll finally get some actual plot details about the film.
I’m slightly curious if we’ll see these characters return on a Disney+ series down the line.
The cast includes Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Dominic Monaghan, Greg Grunberg, Ian McDiarmid, and Billy Dee Williams.
