Deadline is reporting that yet another addition to the Lord of The Rings as American actress Ema Horvath has taken a role in the pricey Amazon series.
Ema Horvath has been cast as a series regular in Amazon Studios’ high-profile Lord of the Rings TV series, I have learned. Reps for Amazon and the actress declined comment.
However, they failed to mention who she would be playing in the series as there a multiple female roles in the show.
Ema would be joining a cast that consists of Will Poulter, Markella Kavenagh, Maxim Baldry, and Joseph Mawle. The latter is alumni of Game of Thrones and is playing a villain.
- Markella Kavenagh as Tyra
- Will Poulter as Beldor (Baldor?)
- Joseph Mawle as Oren (Earendil?)
- Maxim Baldry as ?
- Ema Horvath as ?
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom director J.A. Bayona is expected to tackle two episodes.
While Amazon has greenlit two seasons, they’re expected to want at least five seasons and we’ve learned that certain actors are being asked to sign-on for six seasons, suggesting they might be playing Elves (there are expected to be large time-jumps between season one to the final season).
Filming is expected to begin shooting next year in New Zealand, where both of the Middle-Earth trilogies were shot. It hasn’t been confirmed if Weta Workshop and Weta Digitial will be returning to help design/create the world of the Second Age.
The Lord of The Rings is currently without a release date but expected to drop sometime in 2021 on Amazon Prime Video.
